| Members Pam Function room On arrival at the lion revived our main team of investigators took base readings, emf readings and thermometer readings in the function rooms and surrounding areas while we waited for the public house to close. On the inn closing we were introduced by the landlord Tony to his guests and staff who were taking part in the investigation. Andy Pam and Martin took readings for the rest of the pub. Before the main investigation started Tony gave a detailed account of the history of the public house. He informed us that where we were sitting was originally two cottages which were adjoined to the pub, (pic on right no.7) which were demolished. An extension to the pub was built in there place. He outlined the history of the pub for us telling us the building started out as the white lion and then a working men’s club for a while, to finally be renamed after its namesake The Lion Revived. We took some pictures of the landing upstairs where people have felt a presence on previous occasions. A feeling I experienced myself on a previous occasion. That area of the building leaves me feeling unsettled. On reviewing the pictures taken (picture right no.2) we discovered a figure of a monk in the window. We are quiet excited with this picture as it clearly shows paranormal activity in the public house (it’s always good when evidence supplied by mediums is confirmed with corresponding photographic evidence). In the public bar area Martin(guest) felt a presence in an area that was not previously known for paranormal activity pictures of the area were immediately taken which on review show a strange light anomaly (picture right no.4) On a later date Tony the landlord took photographs of the same picture and captured the same light animally in a different area of the picture this picture also captured orbs that can be viewed in the gallery. Vigils office The first vigil was conducted by Pam and Donna in the office we employed the use a tape recorder to capture any evp’s and conducted the vigil in darkness not all things are always what they seem and for anybody new to ghost investigations it is always wise to check and double check any anomalies you may find, on asking questions specifically asking for a noise to be made of evidence we were not alone we repeatedly heard a muffled tapping or clicking noise in answer. We were in contact with other members of the team via radio and on reporting this it was discovered that the noises were from machinery in the nearby cellar working the pumps in the bar despite this earlier set back we continued with the vigil and soon a presence was felt in the room behind Donna, he was felt to be in his early 20’s and of working class due to the clothes he was wearing he was long haired dressed in shabby grey jacket and trousers he seemed a of friendly persuasion and seemed interested in Donna’s presence although we tried to interact with him we were unable to do so and he remained with us until we left the office. Vigil in boiler room The second vigil was conducted by Tony and Martin (Guest) and later Pam in the boiler room, this vigil was also conducted in the dark. Tape recorders were used. After getting used to the atmosphere of the room questions were asked to ascertain if any spirits were in the area. Martin was the first to notice that the temperature in the room had dropped. Tony checked the vents and all other openings where drafts of cold air could be causing this but was unable to find any. Over the next 45 minuets Martin felt a presence repeatedly touching him but the whole atmosphere was one of a friendly nature and so the vigil continued. When Pam joined the vigil she was able to ascertain that the presence felt was that of a large bodied man with dark hair and beard. Pam and Martin were able to get two names Edward and Stephen.(The visualization of the presence employed the use of scrying with Martin used as the subject). Summary With so much activity reported first by members of the public and them confirmed by our sensitive and mediums
we were very optimistic of finding evidence on the night of the investigation. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Tony and his staff for allowing our investigation and for making us feel so welcome.
