It was my younger sister's 18th birthday last week, so my parents and I planned a get-together at a swanky bar downtown for her, and it was fantastic.
We made the most of their two-for-one cocktail happy hour and got a load of drinks in for her and her friends - though I think it was weird for my parents to see their baby girl drinking! - and the food was fantastic for a bar rather than a full restaurant!
The staff gave us a level of hosting dedicated just to us that I cannot appreciate any higher. We had our own section of the bar with plush booths reserved just for us, and the bar staff kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything, it was like VIP treatment!
It cost a small fortune in the end, but she's an adult now, it was the last party she's going to get from us!
